This cabin is the perfect secluded forest get away. Tucked back away in the woods with a view and hike down to the river. Our dogs loved it! Tons of space, comfy beds and couches, and everything we needed in the kitchen to cook meals. We didn’t use them, but there is a washer and dryer available to use. One note if you have a large group- the upstairs bathroom is only a bathtub. Also, as this is a log cabin, all of the rooms are somewhat “open” to each other (either as a loft or just gaps between walls and ceiling). This was not an issue for us, but just something to keep in mind if you are looking for full privacy. Super easy check-in and good communication. Location doesn’t come up properly in Maps, but the host provided us clear instructions in advance, so we had no issues.

Very cozy and comfortable when we got the fire started. There was a little bit of firewood available, but plan on bringing some of your own if you want a fire. Floor plan is great for relaxing and talking with anyone in kitchen. Beds are nice and could comfortably sleep 10 without feeling crowded (or couch surfing!). There’s plenty of floor space upstairs as well for personal belongings, the pictures don’t show that very well. Beautiful views over the river and in the woods. The house is at the end of the road, so good for privacy, but as it is a dirt road, tis slippery when wet and took us a couple tries to get up the last incline. Would definitely consider staying again at this place.

I booked this Airbnb for a get away with my friends, and we could not have spent a better weekend. The cabin is located in a quiet and peaceful place. We got to disconnect from the buzzing city and connect with each other instead, surrounded by a warm woodfire and in a clean, cosy and beautiful cabin. I absolutely recommend staying there!!

My family of 5 and our dog stayed 5 nights at the cabin. We were originally booked for 4 nights but were enjoying our stay and decided to extend it. The pictures and the listing accurately describe the property. We really liked the remoteness of the cabin and the surrounding woods and wildlife. It was just the getaway we needed. We had about 5 inches of snow fall and the the log home and the wood burning stove had a cozy feel to it. We saw several deer, squirrels and birds in the surrounding woods. I think in the future we may book the cabin during a warmer month so we could take advantage of the available kayaks on the river. Robert was very quick to respond when I asked for suggestions about where to get groceries, firewood, etc. We would definitely recommend the property.

We really loved the secluded location and beautiful views at the Wilderness Retreat. Loved the wood burning fireplace and the soaking tub upstairs. The log cabin is definitely a relaxing place to unwind! My tip for guests traveling with dogs, bring extra towels. It was a rainy weekend and the grounds surrounding the cabin turned into a mud pit. Very messy for potty breaks.

The place comes with everything we need - central heat, full size kitchen, large dining and living area, great master bed and spacious 2nd floor with rest of the beds. The cellular reception is unexpectedly well and WiFi/TV works well as well. The location is private and serene, but at the same time is not too far away from nearby city and general stores. For my birthday, I wanted some peaceful, cozy, carefree time away from city life and that’s exactly what I got! The cabin was exactly what I was looking for. Log cabin. Secluded. Beautiful forest/river views. Updated, cozy furnishings. Indoor fire (wood burning stove). Pet friendly. My family loved it here, and our dog had the time of his life! One thing I thought was super unique was that they supplied a dog bed and dog food dish. Gave us extra room in the car by not having to bring those items! I loved that! Host was very responsive and helpful with our questions. We will definitely be visiting again in the future!

The place exceeded our expectations. The wife and I were looking for a quiet place to get away for a few days. We definitely found it! The place was very secluded and quiet. The cabin has a very cozy feel. Robert was a great host and was very responsive. We are looking forward to another stay in the future.

The property was beautiful and private. We loved setting and the interior was stunning. It was cold and there wasn't much snow so there weren't many outdoor activities but we liked walking and exploring the nearby towns. The TV and wifi were a plus for entertainment when we wanted to stay in. The kitchen amenities allowed us to cook some meals and there were plenty of places within 20 minutes for snacks and restaurants. Overall we enjoyed our stay and wish we could have stayed longer.

Very secluded and quiet, beautiful cabin in a beautiful setting. Wife and I plus two friends and our two golden retrievers stayed for a peaceful weekend. Loved hanging out by the fire pit while the pups ran through the woods. Beds were extremely comfortable, super fast WiFi. Cabin was warm and comfortable great living space with very comfortable furniture and great large windows. Absolutely recommend this place if you’re looking for a peaceful weekend in a cabin.

My girlfriend and I had a great time. Very peaceful and quiet, stepped outside at night and couldn’t hear anything, which was very peaceful! Even though weather wasn’t the best, still made the best of it, stayed inside and watched Christmas movies! Seeing the snow through the spacious sized windows, while watching x-mas movies was perfect! Definitely want to try and make it back here for a summer vacation!!

Beautiful place, very secluded and remote. Just what we were looking for. The cabin was warm and cozy, felt like home away from home. Very big and spacious for our whole family. Not only enough sleeping space, but even enough living room and dining room sitting space. Mattresses are on the firmer side (I prefer softer) but they are newer and still in very nice condition, just personal preference. Kids enjoyed a bit of hiking. WiFi works very well. The dogs loved it too, great outdoors for them to run around and sniff, and even a cozy dog bed. All around a very nice stay. I bet it would be great kayaking in the summer.

We absolutely loved our time here. The space is warm and cozy, has an amazing view, very clean, and the host, Robert, was really communicative and kindly accommodated our needs. I can't express how beautiful the woods and river are. I highly recommend staying here for as long as you possibly can.

We had an enjoyable 3-night stay at the Wilderness Vista Retreat. The place is attractive, comfortable, and secluded. It's easy to relax on the oversized furniture, and when we lit the wood-burning stove it created a welcoming ambience. The large windows created a light-filled space. The kitchen has all modern conveniences, with a large island and counter workspace. Navigating the last half-mile or so to the house was a little tricky due to the heavy leaf cover on the (unpaved) road, but that was specifically due to the time of year, and thankfully we arrived while there was still daylight. Note that firewood is not provided, and it was surprisingly difficult to find bundles for sale locally. Overall it was a great experience, and was just what we were looking for.

This cabin stay was exactly what we needed for a fall getaway. The cabin and its natural surroundings were absolutely beautiful. The cabin was cozy and clean, the bed was very comfortable, and our dogs loved playing by the river and in the woods. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We’ll be back!

Peaceful, quite, and relaxing. If you are looking for a woodland retreat I would highly recommend this stay. It's set at the very end of a private drive, on the top of a hill, overlooking the river. Watch for deer on your way in and out!
