The location is one of a kind! Right on the Muskegon River and so very private. The grilling space and pavilion is always our favorite. It’s so fun to hang out outdoors but feel covered for rain etc. House sleeps a lot of people which is awesome too. Great AC in all rooms and we love being able to bring our dog. At this price point the only thing needed in my opinion is a deep clean - floors and kitchen counters were dirty. Also a few essentials I always expect at an AirBB are foil, Tupperware, plastic wrap, a few ziplock bags at the very least. All missing. Need something to help with leftovers. Other than that love the spot and will likely be back!

We had a great time! The property was beautiful and incredibly relaxing. My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay there; she spent her time reading while I fished and caught a lot of nice fish. We would definitely go back!

A wonderful place to stay!!!!! Many amenities and VERY spacious. Beds were comfortable. Bathrooms and kitchen were clean. They even had “good” toilet paper. lol Highly recommend this place!

If you're looking for a place to get away and unwind thats peaceful with room to spread out this is the place for you. My family of 7 had plenty of room. The gazebo is amazing, its large with a built in grill and seating for probably 16people. Its set on 5 acres with plenty of room for the kids and pets to play. We will definitely be booking this house again in the near future. This trip ended up being the most relaxing of any trip we've taken in years. Book and you wont be disappointed.

Great place to stay. The property was private and comfortable, and the outdoor grill areas were awesome. We really enjoyed the river access, and the big yard was perfect for playing lawn games all day. Overall, it was a perfect spot for a weekend getaway!

This home felt very private and secluded. We loved sitting by the river and listening to the birds. There’s tons of space inside and out for family dinners and events.

We enjoyed our stay, the river was beautiful! We went to nearby Big Rapids and my kids enjoyed the skate park and we walked along the river. We also went into the town of Hersey and shopped at a little country store, that was really convenient. The only downside was one of the bedrooms had an overpowering musty smell and my son ended up changing rooms because of it. Also there was a random dog that went running along the river back and forth a couple times, this wasn't a big deal to us but if we were outside with our dog it would have been concerning.

Absolutely beautiful property! The peaceful river is just what we needed to unwind from a hectic life. The house itself was adorable and massive, MUCH bigger than expected, the master bedroom with its own porch was perfect! We will definitely be back!

Perfect private winter wonderland getaway

This place was a perfect, relaxing winter getaway for a girls weekend.

Right on the river, it is a beautiful and serene vacation spot if you’re looking to get away and relax. Outdoor grill and sauna were easy to use. Closest grocery is a local market, only about 20 minutes with a great small town feel!

My husband, our pup and I enjoyed our getaway very much. The property is located in a very quiet, mostly secluded area (though you can see neighboring houses), surrounded by trees. The yard is very large, right on the river and offers ample seating and a spacious deck to enjoy the scenic view and immerse yourself in nature. The house itself was clean and comfortable but as others mention, could use a bit of a refresh. The bathrooms especially are pretty dated and have obvious signs of aging. There’s a lovely covered outdoor kitchen that we were excited about but sadly the grills were so dirty and grates rusty that we decided to not use them, bought a little table top one at the local hardware store and used that instead. This is the second time staying at one of Forest & Flow’s property. The check in and out process is easy, Robert is very responsive and we will most likely use them again in the future…

We have stayed here before and had to come back for another visit during peak fall color season. It did not disappoint. Amazing spot on the river with privacy and the dogs were welcome and had a blast too. It’s close to town but feels miles away. The covered pavilion is one of a kind and was stocked with charcoal for grilling. Also appreciated the option of several different fire pits outdoors and a fire log for the fireplace indoors too. 100 percent would revisit.

Spacious house with an incredible view. The house was exactly as described and allowed our busy family a wonderful space to recconect and spend a little time together.

This property is one of a kind. Privacy like no other place we have ever stayed. It felt like there were no neighbors for miles. Access to the river was amazing - our dog had an amazing time playing fetch and swimming and running in the huge yard. Loved that the house is pet friendly. The covered pavilion and grill setup is SO cool! We had to do a little cleaning from the previous guest who didn’t clean the grill space but did not mind at all. Would definitely come back again! 10/10 for our group!

Exactly as pictured and such a great spot on the river!

This was an older house that had a couple windows that would not shut all the way and just needs some work overall. Also, not all guest follow the rules and clean up after using the cooking spaces outside so we just ended up using our own grill. However we enjoyed the space and would return to this cabin.

Had a great weekend at this cottage plenty of room for yard games! Will be staying here again!

A beautiful setting for a long overdue guys weekend. Had a fabulous time sitting around the giant riverside fire pit, made an excellent meal in the outdoor kitchen, and they even had enough tubes for our whole group to float. The long driveway really makes this place feel private. Would happily stay again. Thank you!.

This place was wonderful. It is very spacious inside and out, and a beautiful riverfront adds to the experience. Robert was very helpful and informative throughout our reservation. The river was teeming with life and the sound of wildlife made the stay feel like northern Michigan. The property is well taken care of and quite comfortable. We needed a break and this was it! It was peaceful, beautiful, and private. There are neighbors, not close and lots of trees between. Much more was supplied than we anticipated and if we had any questions they were kind and quick to respond. Would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed our stay greatly! Beautiful and peaceful with lots of room for our group. Only wish the large tube float was blown up for us to use in the river. Loved the long kitchen table which we used to eat altogether and play card games.

The moment we pulled up to the drive way I knew it was going to be an amazing stay. From the cottage feel to the abundance of fun things to do (kayaking, fishing, grilling, outdoor / indoor games, and so much more!) there was no shortage of family memories to build. So much so this place would be good for a multitude of stays: from romantic getaways, family (infant and kid friendly) excursions, and even just a fun adventure with friends, the riverside retreat stay was a 10/5 in my book. AC in unit, dog friendly, cozy environment, SAUNA, tons of grilling places and options, large fire pit, swimmable river, and more. I highly recommend this stay to anyone wishing a “riverside retreat.”

Exactly as advertised!! Perfect place to get away and relax! Us and the dogs had a great time in the river or relaxing under the pavilion playing games and listening to nature. Definitely plan to return again!!

What a relaxing setting. Listening to the water, watching the deer, the sounds and smells of the firepit/campfire...just what we needed. The screened porch area was especially nice for those of us who are not the "bug friendly" sort. The boys loved fishing, and of course the grilling area and FIRE PIT! Did I mention the fire?! All the rooms had enough space for our family to gather, play games and sleep well. If you enjoy shaded woods, clean water and space to relax, this fits the bill. It took us a day to figure out the sound of the mole repellents but once identified, we switched them off and enjoyed the outdoor sounds perfectly. (We switched them on again before leaving) The lighting is welcoming while outside without being too bright, the kitchen has ample space for "too many cooks" at a time (we made the mistake of bringing a large selection of cup maker type coffee-and it's a drip coffee maker whoops) Thankfully the weather was perfect also, which allowed us a bit of time to air out home upon arrival. Like most "water location homes" it doesn't take long to get a bit musty smelling. But the windows opened easily, the cross ventilation is great and quite soon it aired and was perfect. The bedding was comfortable and generous and you could not ask for a better view waking up (as master bedroom opens not only to the river, but has an entrance to the screened porch right from bedroom-along with a deck entrance) Our family really appreciated the time together. Thank-you!

The cabin was nice to stay at! The amenities were very nice, and the interior of the home was well-kept. The owner was very responsive and helpful. We would stay here again if we were in the area!!

Absolutely loved this relaxing retreat. I needed a last minute stay so I didn’t have a lot of time there but it was clean, lots of space, good WiFi, lovely outdoor areas set up, and it’s also very private with pretty views.

We stayed here for four nights and location is what made our stay truly memorable. The huge backyard is good for playing football or disc throw. You can kayak down the river and get off right into the property. Plenty of space inside the house. Some of the areas started showing the age but it is not something I would worry much about.

Wonderful location for being isolated with a hint of nature. The river was beautiful and peaceful, the neighbors were out of earshot, and the house provided more than enough room. Would recommend to anyone hosting events or just wanting a relaxing vacation away from society.

The stay was great! We were simply looking for a quiet place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Chicago. This home fit the bill perfectly. Quiet, peaceful and even though there are neighbors in the distance, we never saw or heard them (those may be vacation homes). The true value for my family is the fact that the place is dog-friendly. Makes it a true spot for a family vacation. Home has a vintage charm that we actually enjoyed. Plus, it’s priced to take that into consideration. It was money well spent in my opinion.

This was a fantastic location right on the river. I stayed here for a weekend with a bunch of friends & we enjoyed the sauna, huge kitchen, common areas, and gorgeous scenery surrounding the property. It was spacious, clean, and cozy. The rental was easily located, had a lot of parking spaces, and was a perfect rental for people who like to cook! overall great stay & value.

The host was very responsive. Very reasonable with check in/out times. The house was beautiful and literally has the river going through the backyard. It was very clean and the beds were very comfy! Definitely will be coming back during the summer months.

The home was perfect for a winter get away! We went during a really cold snap and the house was still plenty warm and there was lots to do inside. The game cabinet was well stocked and our toddler loved the toy basket. Even with the cold, we made it outside to play in the snow and walk a little bit. The yard is large and the home feels very private. I can’t imagine how great it would be to visit in the summer!

Amazing stay enjoyed a wonderful winter wonderland. Sauna was amazing. Home is a great size for plenty of guests. The property is private and river views are amazing from the house.

Robert was very attentive about a problem we reported, and he helped make our stay very enjoyable. We enjoyed watching the river and had nice fires at night. The sauna was nice too.

This was an amazing stay, and I couldn’t recommend a place like this more. We stayed over Christmas and the dual fireplaces combined with the beautiful Muskegon River in the background made for such a peaceful and picturesque experience. Can’t wait to stay here again!

We had an amazing stay at this charming Airbnb, located right on the Muskegon River. The peaceful surroundings and beautiful river views made it the perfect retreat after long days of work on our project in Big Rapids. The home was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked with everything we needed. We especially appreciated the cozy atmosphere and the chance to unwind. It was the ideal spot for both relaxation and convenience, being just a short drive from Big Rapids. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a serene getaway!

This is a perfect place to unwind, the beautiful interior of the home and then the setting outside was just what we needed! We are already planning our next trip!

This is my second time staying at this location and I’ve enjoyed it both times. It is so comfortable and cozy. The scenery is phenomenal. The day I left, as I was staring at the river, a deer popped out of the woods and shortly after, an eagle flew along the river. It was breathtaking. I’ll definitely be staying in the future again.

This place is so great! The beauty of the backyard on the river is so peaceful. We booked this house for a wedding nearby, but had the best time just hanging out at the house. The outdoor space is great! We had an issue with the microwave & they immediately had a new one on our doorstep the next morning. Great with communication. We had a great time & would definitely book again! Plus the little basket of toys was a hit with our toddler☺️

Beautiful home and location! We celebrated our bachelorette party there and had an absolute blast! Seems like it could even be used for a smaller intimate wedding. Our host was very responsive. My only complaint was that we couldn’t figure out how to get the sauna to heat up. The instructions didn’t quite match what we were seeing. Other than that, we had a wonderful time and I would love to come back.

Perfect, just perfect. The house is incredible and the setting is even better. Spent every night in front of the fire listening to the river and enjoying nature. The sauna was amazing and so was the Argentinian cooking area. Super responsive host with excellent insight on the area.

Great property for our family camping trip. Those who wanted to sleep outside did and it was wonderful! Access to the river was amazing for fishing and taking a dip. The grills made some great food. Overall great place to stay!!

We'd been on the road for almost a week touring Michigan and really enjoyed the peaceful, remote setting of this house. We wish we'd been more equipped to get into the river but that was bad planning on our end. We loved the fire pit and all the available wood. We did notice that the floors seemed in need of a really good cleaning and that the pots and pans drawer of the oven needed a good scrubbing. Other than those 2 minor things, this was a great place to stay to recoup before we headed back to Arizona. Thanks for making it available!

We love this place It makes us spend time together so much fun and happiness. It's a beautiful place.

It was a comfortable stay. The house was nice. Amenities were a plus, our boys used the kayak's provided and fished. I would give it a five, but the only thing I would change is check and clean the outdoor pavilion after last guest. Food under the picnic table, beer can in smokeless pit and banana peel by the steps.

My friends and I came here for a guys trip and everything went great! The house is beautiful, has a nice homey feel to it, the river is absolutely incredible, the checkin was smooth, the host responded to my messages extremely fast, and I can honestly say that it was worth what I paid for this trip. If you’re looking for a relaxing and quiet getaway then this is the spot. Thank you for sharing your home with us and we can’t wait to book with you again.

We loved this quiet, private location and enjoyed floating in the river, cooking on the Argentinian grill and having drinks around the campfire. It rained a couple days, but we stayed dry and played games under the covered patio. The property is beautiful and the home is tidy and spacious and great for families and groups. Robert is really responsive as well. We had a great time and will be back!

We really enjoyed ourselves! We got to enjoy the activities they offered like kayaking, tubing, and fishing. We also got to use the argentinian grill which was awesome! They allowed us to come 30 minutes early and I was able to contact them right away to find out. The home had everything we needed and a few extras. I highly recommend this place for just a family or a group trying to have a peacful week or weekend away from all the hustle and bustle.

This is a pristine and secluded spot. The house itself was massive and comfortably fit our entire party. We mainly spent our time in the outdoor pavilion with the wood fire grill. Pretty much anything we needed besides the food itself was already there. The river also was great to swim in, with a couple dozen curious but harmless crawfish. There was a lot more at the property that we didn't have time to use. Great stay.

Great space for you and up to 15 of your friends. Our group of 15 had plenty of space for the weekend. Peaceful property located on the river. Fire pit, grill, and a large yard can make for a lovely weekend (weather permitting). The host was responsive and helpful.

The place was set up nice for a weekend getaway, big back yard, wood cooking around out back was nice for cookouts and the tubes provided made it nice to float down the Muskegon river, water was just right. The neighbors down up and down the road were friendly.

We enjoyed our stay. It was so peaceful and quiet. We spent alot of time outside, lounging in the sun by the river. The house was clean and cozy. Although we didn't use many of the amenities as it was just my daughter and I, the outdoor patio/kitchen looked like it would be so fun to use with a large group ad well as the large deck and screened in porch. we were there in the summer heat but would of loved to use the outdoor sauna in cooler weather. Maybe next time!

It was a beautiful home and we had a great time. It is very family friendly. We fished in the backyard (although they are a little hard to catch) and we kayaked with the kayaks provided. The dogs had an exciting time as well! Thank you for the wonderful and peaceful vacation.

The house on the river was beautiful. Came up for a fishing trip and it was nice and peaceful to relax along the river after being on the water for 8 hours. Very quiet and private setting. It was only my family this time and there were plenty of extra beds. Would love to bring some more friends and stay a weekend this summer.

What a gorgeous spot! The moment you walk in the front door you are greeted by the view of the Muskegon river through the wall of glass doors. It's hard to describe just how beautiful this setting is. It's private but you don't feel isolated and are close to towns with good restaurants and stores. The house has PLENTY of room to spread out in, supplied with everything you need, comfy beds and the hosts were always responsive. I highly recommend staying here if you are anywhere in the area - you'll wished you'd booked a longer vacation!

We had a great long weekend away here. It was so beautiful, peaceful, and cozy. From waking up to gorgeous river view, bundling up to read while listening to sounds of nature in the covered patio, grilling steaks and fresh caught fish in the outdoor kitchen, to ending our days relaxing in the sauna (best surprise ever), we had a blast.

This was a amazing stay. It was just my dog and I, needed a weekend to get away from the busy everyday life. Couldn’t have found a better place. Quiet, very spacious, cute 70s vibe, VERY comfortable. I definitely intend to stay here again!

Forest and Flow are great hosts! I've stayed in their homes 7 times and every one of them are very clean and comfortable and always have everything you might need, including extra food items in the pantry!
