We loved sitting by the river and listening to the birds. We went to nearby Big Rapids and my kids enjoyed the skate park and we walked along the river. We also went into the town of Hersey and shopped at a little country store, that was really convenient. The only downside was one of the bedrooms had an overpowering musty smell and my son ended up changing rooms because of it. Also there was a random dog that went running along the river back and forth a couple times, this wasn't a big deal to us but if we were outside with our dog it would have been concerning. ## Chanelle H. — Stockbridge, Michigan — April 2026 — 5★ Absolutely beautiful property! The peaceful river is just what we needed to unwind from a hectic life. The house itself was adorable and massive, MUCH bigger than expected, the master bedroom with its own porch was perfect! The property is located in a very quiet, mostly secluded area (though you can see neighboring houses), surrounded by trees. The yard is very large, right on the river and offers ample seating and a spacious deck to enjoy the scenic view and immerse yourself in nature. The house itself was clean and comfortable but as others mention, could use a bit of a refresh. The bathrooms especially are pretty dated and have obvious signs of aging. There’s a lovely covered outdoor kitchen that we were excited about but sadly the grills were so dirty and grates rusty that we decided to not use them, bought a little table top one at the local hardware store and used that instead. This is the second time staying at one of Forest & Flow’s property. It did not disappoint. Amazing spot on the river with privacy and the dogs were welcome and had a blast too. It’s close to town but feels miles away. The covered pavilion is one of a kind and was stocked with charcoal for grilling. Privacy like no other place we have ever stayed. It felt like there were no neighbors for miles. Access to the river was amazing - our dog had an amazing time playing fetch and swimming and running in the huge yard. Loved that the house is pet friendly. The covered pavilion and grill setup is SO cool! We had to do a little cleaning from the previous guest who didn’t clean the grill space but did not mind at all. Also, not all guest follow the rules and clean up after using the cooking spaces outside so we just ended up using our own grill.
